Our 5.56 (also shoots .223) 7.5” Pistol nitride barrels are 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium (ChMV). Chrome, molybdenum, and vanadium are impurities added to the barrels that react positively with the nitriding process with less imperfections and a smoother finish. By not lining our barrels with Chrome, we can keep our smooth bore intact as we do the Nitriding process. The result is a more accurate barrel. Our pistol barrels are more accurate than you would think, shooting very accurately at 100 yards.

My biggest complaint about this upper is that my .22 LR CMMG adapter doesn’t fit in it. Nothing wrong with the adapter as it goes right into my Palmetto State Armory Upper Receiver and shoots great. Shot some .223 out of it and shoots fine, albeit very loud even with ear muffs. I prefer shooting .22 LR in my weapons when I’m plinking because of the low recoil, low noise, and cost. I usually shoot .223 at the range. Unfortunately, this weapon is now just a range gun.
